Dating to the early 1800s, shape note singing is a uniquely American musical tradition bringing communities together through four-part harmonies—in turn boisterous and reverent—but always soul-stirring. This film first aired March, 2008 on Oregon Public Broadcasting's Oregon Art Beat program.
