"Hypocrite's Creed", "The Politics
of Food", and "Consumer Temple"

The fall issue of The BeZine, with the theme of social justice and hunger, includes three of my poems. "The Hypocrite's Creed" makes its debut appearance along with "The Politics of Food" (first published in Subversive Verse in 2014) and "Consumer Temple" (first published in 2008 in Pairs of Poems and on protestpoems.org).

A quarterly online arts-humanities-literary zine, The BeZine publishes work on the themes of peace, sustainability, and social justice.

Washington State Book Award for Poetry
The Raven Chronicles Press Take a Stand: Art Against Hate anthology, which includes my poem "Take The Knee", won the Washington State Book Award for Poetry on September 10, 2021.

Edited by Seattle-based writers Anna Balint, Phoebe Bosche, and Thomas Hubbard, Take a Stand: Art Against Hate, A Raven Chronicles Anthology includes poems, stories, and images from 117 writers and 53 artists, representing a wide range of proactively humanitarian and nonviolent stances. In Take a Stand: Art Against Hate poets, artists, and activists participate in a print-form peace march, an ongoing campaign for justice in the struggles embodied in these writings, photos, and artwork.

Inspired by Colin Kaepernick, "Take The Knee" also appears as a broadside on Pinterest.
